Read to Achieve

The Read to Achieve Certification Plan is a process for teacher assistants to maximize their effectiveness as instructional assistants by providing thorough and effective reading instruction and intervention, therefore directly contributing to student achievement. It further provides teacher assistants with educational opportunities to keep them abreast of the latest changes and innovation in reading education. The certification focuses on practical and effective training aligned with the goals of the Read to Achieve Legislation essential for teacher assistants to contribute to student achievement and reading proficiency.

Certification: Certification will be offered to encourage teacher assistants to seek further education and training in reading. This certification will be offered through a ten hour training program implemented by the North Carolina Association of Teacher Assistants.
