Our Conference Evaluator

Dr. Matthew Stover


We are honored and excited to have the current Superintendent of Catawba County Schools, Dr. Matthew Stover, as our 2020 NCATA Conference Evaluator.

Dr. Stover has served our North Carolina public education system for 15 years. He began his career in public education as a high school teacher and coach in Cleveland County. He then became an assistant principal (2003-2007) and then principal (2007-2011) for Lincoln County Schools. He then became the  Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources (2011-2013) and then the Associate Superintendent (2013-2016) before accepting the job of Superintendent of the Catawba County School system in 2016. 

Dr. Matthew Stover earned his bachelor’s degree in social studies education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana. He also attended Gardner-Webb University where he obtained a master’s degree in school administration in 2003 and a doctorate in educational leadership in 2009. Dr. Stover is married to his wife, Melia, and they have two children.
