Sandra Marlowe began her work with the Alexander County School System as a substitute teacher, and, in the 2000-2001 school year, was hired as a full time instructional assistant at Hiddenite Elementary School. She has been a member of NCATA since 2002, and served as the NCATA State Historian for the 2013-2015 term of office.  Sandra enjoys working with the students at Hiddenite Elementary, and presently serves students in two second grade classrooms.  Further she directly instructs three reading groups daily, works with one remediation reading group, and also works one-on-one and in small math remediation groups. During her time at Hiddenite Elementary she has helped to write grants that have brought in around $20,000.00 total for the school. Sandra was instrumental in starting the first LEGO robotics club in Alexander County Schools. She loves teaching STEM activities along with science. She is married to Fred Marlowe, and together they have two sons. She enjoys being a grandmother, and taking care of her grandkids when her schedule permits.  Sandra enjoys reading, cooking, coloring, and especially going on mission trips to help others.
