NCATA Annual Conference

Regina Davis, Conference Chair and Andrea Cranfill, Conference Co-Chair

NCATA is well known for the outstanding conferences we hold each year. Teacher assistants have the opportunity to attend relevant workshops, meet with peers, recognize our many accomplishments, give special awards, and have lots of fun! Our conferences give attendees a lot of BANG for their registration fee!

The 36th Annual NCATA Conference will be held May 3-6, 2018 in Cary, NC. The theme is "Waves of Change. Oceans of Opportunities" and the conference statement is "TAs Making a Difference One Student at a Time." More information will be forthcoming in the coming months and registration will open on January 1, 2018. Linda Stamat from District 5 submitted the winning theme that was announced at our 2017 Awards Banquet.

* CHANGE IN CONFERENCE REGISTRATION FEE: Please note that the non-member rate for attending conference will be increasing to $250 for the 2018 conference. On March 1, the rate will increase to $260. The member rate will remain at $150 for the Early-Bird registration period and increase to $160 on March 1. Non-members wishing to attend conference should join the association in order to take advantage of the lower registration fee. A yearly membership to NCATA is only $45, due by December 31, 2017. The price increases to $50 on January 1, 2018.

"As a former principal, I found this conference to be the zenith of professional staff development and recognition for teacher assistants and I encourage attendance for all TA's.  I also made it one of the few annual conferences for attendance on my calendar as well. I was never disappointed and championed many of the ideas for effective change within our school."

The Honorable Mary S. Accor
Former Cleveland County Commissioner
Chair of the NC Association of County Commissioners

"I had a wonderful experience at the NCATA conference in 2013. I attended the closing banquet and the energy in the room was incredible. Teacher assistants were clearly proud of their profession and proud of the students and school systems they serve. Having the opportunity to celebrate the many accomplishments of our teacher assistants state wide with NCATA was rejuvenating and refreshing. It's great to be around so much positive energy and so many dedicated professionals."
